Stressed out and can't relax? Aches and pains that you "can't do anything about"? Mind always racing and won't slow down? Tired of gyms and the "no pain, no gain" attitude to fitness?
Yoga is a system of total health that has evolved over the past 5,000 years in order to find ways to get rid of suffering at every level of the body - mental, physical and emotional - at the same time. Take some easy movements, conscious breathing techniques and meditative practices, add in a dash of fun and you've got a recipe for easing away many of your troubles, or at least putting them into a clear perspective to let you get on with life unhindered.
Explore Yoga comes to Time to Relax Therapy Centre on a Wednesday evening, offering two classes.
For mums-to-be from 16 weeks onwards, we offer a specialist Yoga for Pregnancy class, designed to keep you well and free from discomfort through your pregnancy, and prepareyour body, breath and mind for birth and beyond. This class is specifically designedto meet the needs of mother and baby during pregnancy, and offers far more for expecting mums than even an ordinary Yoga class can provide. This class runs from 6pm to 7.15pm.
For everyone else, from complete beginners to the more experienced, we offer a Yoga for Wellbeing class where each you will explore a variety of Yoga techniques to help your body, breath and mind work together in balance, just like they're supposed to do. The emphasis of this class is on working within your capabilities, slowly progressing from week to week to find your challenges, and discovering how to do your Yoga. This class runs from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Classes are led by Yoga Teacher and Therapist Scott Rennie, who is certified by and continues to train with the Krishnamacharya Healing & Yoga Foundation. Scott's teaching is based on the therapeutic approach to Yoga, which recognises that it is essential to adapt the Yoga techniques to the individual's needs, abilities and interests (and not the other way about).
For students wishing to study privately or for Yoga Therapy to meet specific individual needs that cannot be addressed in a group class (such as chronic illnesses), Scott can also work on a one-to-one basis with students at the Time to Relax Therapy Centre by appointment.
